There’s just so much to say.
TechStars has been the most incredible experience of my life. We’ve seen highs, lows, and everything in between. socialthing! as a product has come 180º and is now prepping to be a pretty mature product. Socialthing, Inc. as a company has matured as well. We went in, not even being a real company, and knowing hardly anything about how in the hell you start your own company, and now I can honestly say that we’re ready for this. The mentors, the sessions, it’s helped us out so much in understanding how to do this, and what it all means.
Investor Day was a blast. Prep for Investor Day was a bitch. I had spent nearly the full month practicing and refining my pitch and I finally got it to the point where I was comfortable presenting it. So I went up there and just laid it all out on the line and explained what we did and how it worked. We got GREAT response. Had plenty of investors coming up to us afterwards interested in talking further and interested in our product. Many of them understood the possibilities, which was great…I hoped at least one person would share our vision, luckily, it wasn’t just one person.
Now through the next few weeks we’ll be going through our meetings with some potential investors and going to be working hard to get to those next steps, but where I can, I will keep you informed.
Yesterday was also a big day for press. We picked up a TON of new subscribers to the blog and people on the mailing list, which is great, so I guess now I have to blog a little bit more frequently
Since I really don’t have a good way to say thanks to each one individually, I just want to link to all of the blogs that we got mentioned on yesterday.

Some of you might also be readers from some of these blog posts, and I would like to clarify just a few things.
First off, we’re not just an aggregated profile page. socialthing! literally synchronizes your digital life. We’re able to sync your friends across your networks and sites, letting you also take your friends with you to your next site, super easy. We let you sync your content across your various sites, and finally, take your identity with you across the sites. Officially, it’s called a digital life manager.
Mashable wrote about the LiveJournal Founder set forth a manifesto looking to create an open social network. The interesting thing is that he hit on the dot some of the things that our API is going to do. Now granted, there’s still more about our API that will make it extremely compelling, and we’re in the process of partnering with a few other websites to create a standardized API for this, but it was interesting to see other smart people thinking in the same direction. It’s validation to us that we’re doing something right.
Our (more open) private beta is going to be coming up soon here in the next month and if you want to get involved, just subscribe to our mailing list on our home page.
We’ll keep you more informed as we go along.
This next week we are refactoring our code to be scalable, and also, completely cross-browser compliant. We are also revamping the UI in the process.
